We’re thrilled to celebrate one of our own—Kayla McCarty, a 2025 Palm Springs Young Playwrights Festival winner for her play Seven—for earning a spot as a top 8 finalist in this year’s Jimmy Awards! Kayla’s talent lit up our festival in June, and now she’s shining on Broadway at the prestigious National High School Musical Theatre Awards (NHSMTA), also known as the Jimmy Awards.
Held annually in New York City at a Nederlander Theatre, the program honors the best in high school musical theatre nationwide. Being named among the final 8 is an extraordinary accomplishment, and we’re so proud to see Kayla recognised on such a big stage. Bravo, Kayla!
Kayla reached the national stage through The Lucie Arnaz Awards in Palm Springs, CA, and wowed audiences with her performance of “I’m Breaking Down” from Falsettos.
