"At first, I was really scared to send in my play. You can say I was terrified of being rejected. When I was told I was one of the winners, I realized that I had nothing to worry about. ...It opened my eyes to a world that I never knew I would want to be a part of. The experience was so amazing that I will be submitting another play this year. "

"The Palm Springs Young Playwrights Festival was one of the most important developmental—as a writer, student, and human—experiences I had last year. Seeing my work performed in front of and enjoyed by an audience for the first time gave me a huge boost of confidence and self-trust. Working with actors and directors from the other side of the table—this time as a writer, not as an actor—enriched my understanding of the collaborative nature of theatre. Being told that I can actually write something worth experiencing filled me with inspiration and ambition to keep on writing, motivating me to work on various scripts and other pieces of literature over the summer and fall, as well as join the Dramatists Guild of America. All of this is thanks to the Palm Springs Young Playwrights Festival, and I couldn't be more grateful.”
